Norfolk Wherry Brass is based in the village of Smallburgh on the north eastern edge of the beautiful Norfolk Broads. The players rehearse on Tuesday evenings at the Smallburgh Village Hall starting at 7.45pm. Smallburgh is a small village between Stalham and North Walsham.

The band was formed during the early months of 2004 and as can be seen by visiting the 'Our History' page we have had a meteoric journey to get to where we are now.  We are not a registered charity, but many of our concerts help raise funds for local charities.  The committee, elected by the members, is responsible for running the band.

This year we have the demanding task of competing as a second section band.  We know that it will not be easy, we know that our upward climb must at some point slow down, but we are certainly up for the challenge.

New players are always welcome but check with the Musical Director prior to coming to a rehearsal as occasionally rehearsals are held at other locations for logistical reasons.  Age is no barrier to joining Norfolk Wherry Brass as can be seen by visiting our picture galleries.  Our youngest players are teenagers at college and our oldest, to be fair, have a well-worn pension book!!

The band is a very friendly band and many of the players use the Smallburgh Crown Public House as an after-rehearsal watering hole.
