It is with great sadness that the band has to announce that our very good friend and repiano cornet player, David Cassady, passed away in the early hours of this morning. We are all deeply saddened by his passing and would like to pass on our most sincere condolences to Rita and the rest of David’s family.
David was a founder member of the band in 2004 and has been an ever present stalwart over the years. As well as playing for the main band he was an inspiration and mentor to the young members of the Junior Band and to all members of the Academy band when the name changed. He gave up many hours of his time at the local school training pupils during their lunch time as well as in their own homes after school.
Our sadness will be shared by Aylsham Brass Band as well, as David also played for them for many years.
Rest in Peace David and enjoy playing your music with the Angels.
